Rifle Club
Work on the range is now coming along nicely on the Ogilvie Sports Ground. To date, we have spent over £9,000.00 of club money, grants and money raised since the beginning of this project. To finish the range will require a little over £4,000.00.
The electrics are all on, the insulation and inside cladding which has to be 27mm high quality ply wood which has been difficult to obtain and costs £60 per sheet and we require 60 sheets. We have obtained 40 so far and at present being installed. This will bring the containers up to Home Office requirements. There will be other small jobs to do and we hope to be shooting as long as it is passed by the Home Office Inspector for the Suffolk Summer League which starts in May. When the range is finished we will be looking for some new members.

Thorpeness Croquet Club
The club continues to play, weather permitting and new members joining now get full membership through to April 2019.
If you want to try your hand at croquet or to see what we have on offer, please get in touch to arrange a free taster session. The club is based on the Thorpeness Sports Ground. There's plenty of parking, full toilet facilities and all the equipment you need to get started.
Club days are on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoons when you will usually find others to play with but members can also arrange games on any day they choose. The club organises its own tournaments through the season and plays against other clubs in a local league but competing is not compulsory. Many of our members just play socially for fun.

Thorpeness Model Aircraft Flying Club
The flying of model aircraft has taken place on the Club recreation field for approximately 30 years, currently a Model Flying Section of 14 people. The aircraft flown are almost silent in flight, driven by electric motors.
All Section Members are required to be Parent Club members first, and then have to be a member of the British Model Flying Association in order to become a Section Member. Before flying a model aircraft off the field, Club and B.M.F.A membership must be shown to the Section Representative. Guest B.M.F.A certified fliers are welcome with notice.
Should any club/local be interested in seeing us fly on the field, please come and watch or talk to us.
