Tony Woods

Tony Woods was a real community champion who would do anything for anyone, was instrumental in setting up the Rural Coffee Caravan visits to the village, coordinated Neighbourhood Watch, was very involved with the church, and much, much more. He was a very lovely and good person and good friend to me.

Sadly Tony died of a heart attack whilst taking part in the Highland Classic Motorcycle Club Loch Ness Rally on 11 June 2017. He was riding one of his beloved Francis Barnett motor bikes which subsequently went off the road, ending up leaning on a roadside rocky outcrop. He died doing something he loved.

Tony was the beloved and devoted husband of Moira, amazing father of Graham and David, grandad ‘Ghandi’ of Elizabeth, Louis and Stan and loving brother of Eileen. Our condolences go to them.

Tony was buried in Aldringham churchyard on 22 June following a lovely service in the church. I’ll miss Tony very much, as will many others in the village.
