St Andrew's Church & Vestry

The Friends of St Andrew's Church, Aldringham, was originally set up in April 1997 to help fund the vestry extension and since that time has raised many thousands of pounds. The vestry extension enables us to provide refreshments comfortably after services and during concerts. The "Friends" is a voluntary organization which provides a network for those who love our church and its surroundings but who do not necessarily worship here regularly.

Essential major repair work to the exterior of the church and internal work and redecoration was completed in 2010. This was a very expensive repair and much needed for the continued good condition of our church. We continue to raise funds to keep the Fabric Fund topped up for the future.

We hold many successful events each year, including a Spring Coffee Morning and Plant Sale, a Craft and Coffee Morning in the church vestry, in late autumn, and Quizzes in Knodishall Village Hall. All these events plus donations and membership subscriptions raise substantial sums.

Would you like to become a Friend of St Andrews?

The Friends of St Andrew's Church would very much like to increase our membership, especially if you are available to help with some of our fundraising events. If you would like to become a Friend of St. Andrews, you will find membership leaflets in the church porch and on the table just inside the church. Alternatively phone me with your details and I will send you a form. By becoming a Friend you will share with the worshipping community a concern for the fabric of the church, the upkeep of the churchyard and its future.

If you would like to join the “Friends” there are membership forms in the entrance to the church or please contact

A big Thank You to all those who were involved in planning, running and supporting the many fund raising events put on by the Friends of St Andrew's Church.

Much time is spent in finding others to help, acquiring or making items to sell, publicity and putting up posters, getting the venues ready for events and clearing away afterwards. Thank you to all those who make these events happen.

We are grateful also for items donated for sale or for the Draws/Tombola and donations received. Thank you for your generosity.
