St Jude - Patron Saint of Lost Causes

The storm on 28 October 2013, St Jude's feast day, did a lot of damage, seemingly in isolated areas. A small area of Aldringham woodland was devastated; five big trees, up to 60 feet high, were brought down, domino effect, two or three others left leaning on vertical trees, a line of willows was wrecked. Not far away, two quite rare black poplars fell, each about 100 feet tall, sadly no longer dominating the tree line as one walks down from the church towards the footbridge. That's nature - amazing how it shows its strength.

Do you have any photos of storm damage in the parish you'd like to share? If so, please email them to the Parish website - pc@aldringhamcumthorpe.suffolk.gov.uk.
