Sheila Block & Leslie Brown

Sheila Jane Block was Emma Jackson's grandmother. She grew up in Thorpeness, eventually moving to Aldeburgh when she married Leslie Gordon Brown.

Miss Sheila Block has been employed by us for the last ten months. She has lived in the house with us and acted as companion cum-general help. During this time she has given us every satisfaction. She's a very quiet and a very willing girl - efficient at her job of keeping the house clean and tidy. She has also attended to the children during my occasional trips away from home. She is extremely honest and even tempered, the latter by no means an easy matter with three children dashing madly around the house! She leaves us now as we are going away and she in any case is getting married on the 2nd August. I wish her the best of luck for the future. I know she'll make a very capable housewife.
